GEOS-Chem Credits and References
This page is intended to help you with providing proper credits and references for your publications using GEOS-Chem. We ask that you please follow these guidelines. Development of GEOS-Chem is a grass-roots enterprise by a large number of individual scientists pursuing their own research interests and sharing their work for the benefit of all. Successful functioning of the GEOS-Chem community hinges on users giving appropriate credit to developers through co-authorship or citation.
Co-authorship is appropriate if your paper benefited from a new GEOS-Chem development; see the New Developments page.
Citation is appropriate for older developments or for new developments that have had only a marginal impact on your work; see the Narrative GEOS-Chem Description page for guidance on what papers to cite for your GEOS-Chem application.
The information in these two pages is updated by the GEOS-Chem Steering Committee at every new version release. Please direct any questions to the relevant Working Group Chair or Model Scientist. Information on crediting GEOS-Chem adjoint model developers can be found on the GEOS-Chem adjoint model web page. Please be generous in offering credit as this is what makes the GEOS-Chem world go round. When in doubt, consider erring on the side of inclusiveness.
